Fashion lovers gathered on St. Valentines Day for the La Saint-Valentin event that showcased five local designers: Nicole Bridger, Hive Mind Millinery, Nancy Perreault, Guylaine, and Tamara Montes Claros. Mandy Ross hosted the evening at 'the waterfall building', the perfect backdrop for the occasion. Nicole Bridger’s presentation was highly anticipated with a focus on sustainability central to the vision of her collection. Her ability to incorporate versatility into her line contributed to the overall appeal. Bridger kept her designs functional while adding creativity through her hemlines and feminine silhouettes. The presentation by Hive Mind Milllinery brought a mix of whimsical yet exciting atmosphere to the audience. When it came to colour, people were drawn towards red and black for the night of love and passion. Between fashion shows, the live music of Jim Cummins and Jan Sam kept the energy of the room alive and the night was certainly made sweeter with a three-tier cupcake presentation from Lisa Lyttle Cupcakes. Highlights of the night included personal serenades from Jim Cummins and the eye-catching hats by Hive Mind Millinery. It was a great night for fashion enthusiasts to network and get excited for the launch of designers’ Spring 2013 lines. Love, fashion, and style ~ a lovely combination for your valentine!
